Bedstraw

Gailum boreale Zone 2 12-20” (30-50 cm tall) Dry the roots for a natural dye. With alum as the mordant, the roots produce a brilliant red pigment.
Boil longer to make yellow - Easter eggs
Stuff pillows or mattress. Smells sweet. Seeds can be dried, roasted and ground up.
Caffeine free coffee like drink.
